families, education level, work performance, crime rate, economy and societies worldwide.
Addiction disrupts the neural circuits by increasing dopamine levels within the
mesocorticolimbic system, resulting in relapse and recurring cravings. It is characterized by:
withdrawal syndrome, development of tolerance, compelling drive to consume
substances regardless of the outcomes. Addiction susceptibility is multifaceted, dictated by
environmental circumstances, genetic and brain development factors.
One of the fatal repercussions of addiction is overdose, arising from drug intake
exceeding acceptable limits.
An extensive spectrum of substances are addressed: Opioids exhibit evidence of severe
psychic and physical dependence, whilst Amphetamines and cocaine display a severe psychic
dependence but little physical dependence, Volatile solvents and Cannabis, however, are
associated with mild physical and psychic dependence. Every substance develops tolerance and
possesses a distinct withdrawal syndrome.
Although drug issues are ubiquitous, only the less fortunate, the excluded, and those in
need, who endure the greatest cost. Along with limited access to prescription drugs, they are
subject to crimes and instability which are fueled by drug trafficking.
Understanding the neurological, psychological, and social components of dependence
constitute the basis of treatment strategies, such as pharmacotherapy, skill development, and
psychotherapy and counselling.
Health campaigns, early intervention initiatives, and laws intended for restricting the
accessibility of addictive drugs are all facets of prevention measures. Emphasizing Morocco's
endeavors to eradicate drug production, trafficking, and dependence, the harm they carry out,
and the results they have accomplished.
