Liées à l’âge, ces deux malpositions présentent une physiopathologie quasi identique,elles sont néanmoins de présentation clinique opposée. L’individualisation anatomique récente de deux faisceaux au niveau des rétracteurs permet de suggérer le rôle possible de chacun de ces faisceaux dans la stabilité́ des deux lamelles palpébrales et leur implication pathogénique au cours de ces deux malpositions.
Tarsal ectropion and involutional entropion are two frequent lower eyelid malpositions They are age-related with a similar physiopathology however they present a mirrored clinical presentation. The recent anatomical description of two layers of lower eyelid retractors makes it possible to conceive of the role of each of these layers in the stability of the two palpebral lamellae and their involvement in the pathogenesis of these two malpositions.
